Below is the "Footer" that is automatically added to the bottom of each posted ReadingFreecycle message that Yahoo sends out to our members.  The information contained in the footer is a quick "Refresher Course" on the "Do's and Don'ts" of our Freecycle group, and on the "Always" and "Nevers" of posting formats, etc.  For more detailed information, please refer to our Posting Rules And Policies and Frequently Asked Questions pages.

* ALWAYS make the FIRST word or words of your posting one of these 7 labels that identify the "type" of posting you are making, then briefly describe the item.

* ALWAYS include your general location (town, landmark, schools, store or nearest cross-streets) in either in the Subject or body of an OFFER post. Zip codes are NOT good enough! 

* ALWAYS give a complete and accurate description of any item you OFFER. 

* PLEASE, whenever possible wait 24 hours after posting an OFFER before deciding who to give the item to (so the entire group has a chance to ask for the item). Remember people get their emails or read OFFER messages on our website at different times of the day. After waiting 24 hours, pick who you want to give your item to. 

* ALWAYS enter a PENDING/TAKEN post when an item you offered is no longer available.

* NEVER include a phone number, an exact street address, an alternate email address or a website link in a post. 

* NEVER "flame" another member or engage in politics or email "wars" - if you get posts by email and you don't like what someone has posted, just delete it and forget it! If you saw the post on our website, just skip to the next post and forget it!

* ALWAYS be polite, friendly and courteous - it makes life a lot more enjoyable for everyone, including you! 

* WANTED posts are OK, but don't be greedy and ask for something we would all like to have. No "Wish Lists," no vehicles, no working computers, no working home electronics like TV's, VCR's, DVD players, video games, etc. Max 1 Wanted every 7 days.
